Inspired by the work of Tony Drapkin and Tony Forsyth in The Punter's Revenge our horse racing odds probability calculator provides the user with a quick and relatively simple guide to the probable chances of the horses he or she proposes to back, and to suggest the minimum odds which should be offered about a horse before it can be considered a value bet.
Race types
Races with 10 runners or less, all aged handicaps
Entering the data
Form; Where a horse had run less than three times it should be given a 6 for each race for which it hasn't gained a form figure.
Ratings; Use which ever ratings system you prefer timeform, racinpost, sportinglife etc.
Forecast; Use which ever betting forecast you prefer.
Betting strategy
Probability higher than 60% back selections at evens or better.
